Karin thrives on challenge, great ideas and inspiring people. After graduation the lawyer in Karin was quickly set aside to become a democracy activist managing a capacity building programme for politicians in 8 countries in the former Soviet States. Campaign and media training were high on the agenda. She subsequently moved to Brussels to be the political adviser for the EU Integrated Rule of Law Mission for Iraq, liaising with international institutions and senior government officials from Iraq and the European Member States on issues of rule of law and security sector reform. Flying helicopters over Baghdad and driving with designated bodyguards in armored vehicles was part of this surreal job. Since early 2009
Karin is co-establisher and managing partner of BKB Africa Campaigning in Cape
